CLIENT OBJECTIVES
School City of Mishawaka was seeking to upgrade 10 buildings throughout the school corporation. Their goal was to upgrade HVAC, temperature controls, plumbing, lighting, security, windows, and roofing. School City of Mishawaka required that all work performed would pay for itself over a 15 year period.
VALUE DELIVERED
Through ECS Midwest's Guaranteed Savings Process, School City of Mishawaka achieved a savings of $18,219.00 during the first year of construction and $36,438.00 during the second year of construction. By year three, annual savings had reached $287,725.00 and would continue to accumulate each year thereafter for the next 14 years. The total savings is projected to be $4,400,532.00.
PROJECT SOLUTIONS
ECS Midwest installed a new chiller at the high school that provided more efficient operation. Adding decoupled digital control devices to the boiler made for more efficient boiler operation and adding Variable Frequency Drives helped achieve the desired energy savings. ECS Midwest performed a complete recommissioning analysis to identify deficiencies in equipment and sequences of operation for further improvement. The following updates and installations were made at the following schools:

CLIENT BACKGROUND
School City of Mishawaka is located in the city of Mishawaka, “The Princess City,” and is located on the St. Joseph River, in St. Joseph County, Indiana. School City of Mishawaka serves approximately 5,200 students who attend one of nine schools: seven elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
