To reduce energy consumption and costs.
ECS Midwest signed a performance contract to provide this client with energy solutions aimed at reducing operating costs for a 67,000-square-foot facility. As a self-performing contractor, ECS Midwest handled the entire project with its own teams of technicians. The work included replacing the building’s electric multi-zone rooftop heating units with a more efficient gas-fired multi-zone system with cooling capacity and temperature controls. ECS Midwest further increased energy efficiency by switching the building’s lighting system to T-8 lamps and electronic ballasts.
Additional information: After an initial assessment process that enabled ECS Midwest to predict energy savings with considerable accuracy, the company guaranteed the client annual energy savings of at least $14,897 for 10 years. After seven years, the project was well on track toward meeting the guarantee, with annual savings averaging $17,838.
