CLIENT OBJECTIVES
The Village of South Chicago Heights was losing revenue on one out of every three gallons of water they purchased and wanted to reduce their overall water loss and to recover the revenue they were losing each year because of this excess water loss. They wanted to replace and update faulty and inaccurate reading equipment, which was resulting in dissatisfaction from homeowners.
VALUE DELIVERED
ECS Midwest was able to recapture all of the water lost through old water meters, and the Village will be able to eliminate over 90% of total water loss. ECS Midwest replaced all of the water meters to achieve this water conservation and the cost savings from this covered the expense of the project.
PROJECT SOLUTIONS
This project required ECS Midwest to implement a fixed-based AMI water meter network equipped with leak detection of water lines and identification of sites and integration of automated billing software, replacing approximately 2,000 older water meters. ECS of Indiana also provided training with the new smart meters.
