CLIENT OBJECTIVES
Henry County Government was seeking a reliable energy services provider to reduce energy consumption and demand while improving infrastructure and security in their building. Operational and maintenance costs also needed to be minimized across the entire energy and operations infrastructure. Energy-related capital improvement services such as replacing the roof and mechanical and security systems infrastructures were also considered.

By implementing ECS Midwest's energy conservation measures, Henry County Government’s costs will be lowered by $160,479.00 each year through the 10-year contract term for a projected total savings of $1,604,790.00.
PROJECT SOLUTIONS
ECS Midwest provided commissioning services, upgraded the building automation system, and replaced the aging and problematic boiler system with a more efficient system, all of which improved the overall facility energy efficiency.
Projects included:
- Replacing roof with 50-year synthetic slate roofing
- Installing one steam boiler at the courthouse
- Replacing three hot water boilers with new condensing boilers
- Replacing one chiller
- Replacing the security and CCTV systems
CLIENT BACKGROUND
With a population of 47,000, Henry County encompasses a number of small towns, including the City of New Castle. Many major highways travel through Henry County, and Indiana is commonly known throughout the U.S. as the “Crossroads of America.” Henry County is home to the Indiana High School Basketball Hall of Fame, is the birthplace of Wilber Wright, and was the location where the movie “Hoosiers” was filmed.
